BREA, CALIF. — Pyroderma and benign skin cancer topped the list of skin-condition claims submitted by Veterinary Pet Insurance (VPI) policyholders in 2006.
Of the nearly 847,000 claims processed by VPI last year, about 65,000 (7.7 percent) were for atopic/allergic dermatitis, 36,000 (4.3 percent) for pyoderma/hotspots and nearly 37,000 (4.4 percent) for neoplasia or benign skin cancer.
