Purr-Complete Feline Poultry Meal recalled because of possible Salmonella contamination

Purr-Complete Feline Poultry Meal products have been voluntarily recalled because of possible Salmonella contamination. The Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development identified a positive test for Salmonella during routine testing. 

Sold frozen, the poultry blend meals are sold in 12-ounce and two-pound containers (product code #1524) and distributed nationwide through retail stores, distributors and directly to consumers. The recalled product was manufactured Sept. 12, 2014, with a Sept. 12, 2015, recommended use by date. Manufacturer, Oma's Pride, based in Avon, Connecticut, has stopped producing and distributing the products while the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the company investigate the issue. No illnesses have been reported to date.
