Columbus Instruments introduces the Oxymax ER neonatal and small animal indirect calorimeter. Metabolic diseases and disorders have been monitored in full grown animal models for a number of years, however, indirect calorimeters currently on the market lack the sensitivity and accuracy to measure VO2/VCO2 and respiratory quotient in animal neonatal subjects, the company says.
