Further immobilize the graft on the defect by placing 3-0 or 4-0 monofilament nonabsorbable simple interrupted tacking sutures through adjacent slits in the graft, and tie the knots over the skin between the mesh holes. Place tacking sutures at points where the graft lies over convex or concave areas of the wound and other intermittent places, but not between all slits.
