Industry leaders launch Positive Pet Care Guide

Mars Veterinary Health and the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) led fellow industry leaders to create the Positive Pet Care Guide. This new free resource will help strengthen the relationship between veterinary teams and their clients so they can give the best care to pets.

According to the organizational release,¹ the guide was first announced in September at Banfield’s 2022 Pet Healthcare Industry Summit and leveraged direct input from veterinary professionals, industry leaders, and pet owners to ensure it addressed the concerns and needs of everyone. The guide outlines expectations from pet parents and veterinary professionals to help create healthy lines of communication and foster an environment where all interactions are safe, supportive, and inclusive.

The guide will be available within the AVMA’s reputation management tool kit for free, thanks to an education grant from Banfield. The resource can be printed and displayed in veterinary clinics or serve as a handout to clients as a tip sheet. It educates on behaviors and treatment veterinary professionals and clients can expect from each other to promote mutual respect and trust.
