We've discovered a way to calm fractious cats while muzzling them. We spray the muzzles with a feline facial pheromone analogue (Feliway—Veterinary Product Laboratories). Testy cats immediately become quieter as you place their muzzles, and they stay calm even after the muzzles are removed.
