How to give horse owners information
Your clients look to you for medical knowledge-so give it to them.
Your clients look to you for medical knowledge—so give it to them. Horse owners prefer to get their information from certain sources (see the percentages below). Have you tried any of these methods? Here are some tips to get you started.
94% Short publications
TIP: Give clients something to read to reinforce the importance of medical treatments, regular checkups, and a strong relationship with a trustworthy equine doctor—that's you. Get free client handouts from the AAEP or write your own.
85% Internet
TIP: If your clients are searching for information on the Internet, give them some guidance. Update your Web site with links to equine medical resources you trust. If you don't have a Web site, offer a handout with the same information.
76% Evening seminars
TIP: Some veterinarians invite clients and potential clients to their facility or a local meeting venue for free classes on equine basics. It's one way to reach out to the horse-owning community and attract new clients.
