Fundraising idea: Hold a pet supplies drive

We wanted to give back to the community while offering something to our clients, as well as remind people about remaining vigilant year-round with heartworm prevention. So we did a pet supplies drive for the local humane society. We offered our clients a chance to enter into a drawing for a year's supply of heartworm preventives and testing for every item donated. We also posted the details on our Facebook page for our clients. In addition to the client donations, our practice bought more than $300 worth of supplies from employee donations. All told, we collected a vast mountain of supplies. This year was such a success that we decided to make it a yearly event—we hope to double our collection next year.
