New York dvm360.com and DVM Newsmagazine netted two national Jesse H. Neal National Business Journalism Awards in early March.

The Jesse H. Neal awards are considered the Pulitzer Prize of business-to-business media.

dvm360.com, a portal Web site featuring content from DVM Newsmagazine, Veterinary Economics, Veterinary Medicine, Firstline, Hospital Design and CVC meetings, won in the category of Best Web Site.

DVM Newsmagazine was honored for Best Single Issue of a Tabloid/Newspaper for its July 2009 publication.

Additionally, Veterinary Economics was honored as finalist this year for Best Educational Content for its feature titled "The Forgotten Feline," and so was DVM Newsmagazine for its "State of the Profession" coverage in the Best Subject-Related Seres of Articles.

The Jesse H. Neal National Business Journalism Awards is sponsored by New York-based American Business Media, a national organization representing business-to-business media companies. The awards drew 700 entries in 20 categories and were created to recognize editorial excellence by independent business publications.

DVM Newsmagazine Editor Daniel R. Verdon and Veterinary Economics Editor Kristi Reimer accepted the awards on behalf of their editorial teams. The awards cerermony was hosted at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in New York City. Reimer and Verdon accepted the honors from CBS correspondent Erin Moriarty and Forbes.com Executive Editor Paul Maidment.
