The data: Veterinary equipment and services

News
Article

It takes a comprehensive set of equipment and services to run a successful veterinary practice. But could you offer more?

Imagine this: You've taken your family on vacation. You spend all morning splashing around on the beach, then head to a delightful pizza place for lunch. You visit the local amusement park, where you tackle daunting roller coasters and win gigantic stuffed animals for your kids. Later that night you head out for a gourmet dinner, then stop for ice cream on the way home. By the time the sun sets, you're bushed.

Then the kids ask, “What are we going to do now?”

A similar scenario might exist in your veterinary practice. You may be offering every service you can manage, but your associates are badgering you to add more. Or enough clients have mentioned something that you have to at least consider it. Maybe you'd like to add some in-house diagnostic testing equipment, or perhaps you're ready to purchase a laser therapy system. Or maybe it's time to offer behavior counseling or acupuncture services.

Adding equipment or services may seem like a lot of work, but these investments can pay off for your practice-and for your patients and clients. Here's a look at what services today's veterinary practices offer, and what they're looking to expand.

And now the magical question: What are you going to do now?
