Could gossiping get you fired?

Article

It could if Wall Street billionaire Ray Dalio has anything to do with it.

No one likes gossip in the workplace. It annoys co-workers, decreases productivity, and can lead to convoluted conversations and hurt feelings. One businessman hates gossip so much that he’s decided to get rid of any employees who partake in it.

Ray Dalio, founder of Wall Street hedge fund Bridgewater Associate, has issued a stern warning: Spread rumors and you’re fired. Employees caught gossiping are allowed two warnings before being fired for the third offense.

According to The Australian, Dalio issued a document titled “Dalio rules” to the firm’s 1,000 employees that states, “Never say anything about a person you wouldn’t say to him directly. If you do, you are a slimy weasel.”
