BOULDER, COLO. — The nation's fastest-growing doggy day and overnight camp, Camp Bow Wow, has joined Morris Animal Foundation's (MAF) campaign to find a cure for canine cancer.

Providing information and resources about the risks, prevention and treatment of cancer in dogs to its clients, the camp will assist in fund-raising for MAF's Canine Cancer Campaign.

"Love for dogs and a shared commitment to their happiness and health is the real reason MAF and Camp Bow Wow have joined in this collaborative effort," says Michael Burke, MAF vice president- marketing.

"MAF is working to eliminate canine cancer, the No. 1 cause of death in dogs over two years of age. MAF and Camp Bow Wow make a wonderful team."

With 40 facilities open and 180 franchises sold across the United States and Canada, Camp Bow Wow is opening one additional facility per week and anticipates 250 facilities open and 500 franchises by 2009.

MAF's cancer campaign involves scientific organizations and schools of veterinary medicine. While seeking an ultimate cure, MAF-funded scientists also are working on new treatments. The program also benefits human cancer study, according to MAF, which aims to raise $30 million over five years.
