Buy your home now in April

For those of you who are thinking of buying a new home, now's the time—and time is fleeting, says Gary Glassman, CPA, Veterinary Economics Editorial Advisory Board member and partner with Burzenski & Co. in East Haven, Conn. Low interest rates and government tax incentives in place until April 1 put first-time homebuyers in the driver's seat in the next few weeks.

"If the interest rates on your school loans are low, consider a home purchase before aggressively paying down those loans," Glassman says. "We appear to have a short window of opportunity here."
