Behind the needle: A closer look at veterinary blood banks

Video

A New Jersey animal hospital gave dvm360® a deep dive into its pet blood bank donation process, plus a few success stories of satisfied patients and pet owners.

In her recent interview with dvm360®, Allison Karr, a veterinary assistant from NorthStar VETS Animal Hospital, broke down the pet blood bank donation process step-by-step, plus shared a few success stories the blood bank has seen, including her own dogs’ rewarding donation.

“It’s really great to see [patients] come in low and dragging and barely responsive and then to watch them walk out tail wagging—it’s just an incredible feeling to know that your pet helped make that happen,” she told dvm360.
