Bad breath makes a great video
Taking a creative approach to educating clients about dental disease, Jessica Kay Strohecker, business manager at Shiloh Veterinary Hospital in Dover, Penn., posted a client-education video online. Pet owners and team members alike have enjoyed the lighthearted video that sends a serious message. "When you make something fun for everyone, it really helps spark discussions on important educational topics like dental health," Strohecker says. "Plus, the video will stay up on our site so everyone can enjoy it and continue to learn why dental health is so important to pets. Making connections like that with clients is just priceless."
To promote the video, Strohecker submitted an article to the local paper and included the URL to the video. She also e-mailed a link to certain clients. "The e-mail list was small, but we made sure it was targeted to just those who had pets diagnosed with dental disease but never scheduled a dental cleaning," Strohecker says. "It went really well. Our click-through rate was 4.5 percent above the pet industry average, according to MailChimp, who we use to send our e-mails." Click here to view the video.
