AAEP summer session to cover foot disorders, practice management

-- Veterinarians attending the American Association of Equine Practitioners' continuing-education meeting this summer will get two-for-one instructional sessions -- one focusing on diagnosis and treatment of equine foot disorders and the other on how to build a practice that can survive the recession.

The three-day seminar will be July 19-21 at The Columbus, A Renaissance Hotel, in downtown Columbus.

The "Focus on the Foot" CE program, open to practitioners and farriers, will cover radiology and ultrasonography, biomechanics of the foot, medical and surgical foot treatments, laminitis, therapeutic shoeing, diagnosing disorders, etiology and treatment of club feet and pain management.

The 17th annual practice-management session, entitled "Building a Recession-Proof Practice," will address employee coaching, inventory management, preserving practice value and associate compensation.
