Robert Ward, BVM&S, MSc, MRCVS, DACVD, reminds listeners why nutritional dermatoses deserve a spot on every differential list.

Robert Ward, BVM&S, MSc, MRCVS, DACVD, grew up in England and graduated from the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in Scotland. He spent several years in general practice in the south of England before moving to Canada and working as an emergency veterinarian in Ottawa.
Ward then completed a Dermatology Residency at the VADER clinic in Morriston, Ontario, as well as a MSc in Pathobiology at the University of Guelph. He obtained board certification from the American College of Veterinary Dermatologists in 2024 and became President of the Canadian Academy of Veterinary Dermatology in 2025. He has been heavily involved with promoting education in Veterinary Dermatology on a national scale.
Outside of work, Ward is an avid rugby supporter and dabbles in homebrewing. He also enjoys exploring the local area with his wife Jessie, and indulging his (spoiled) French Bulldog, Ellie.
