Vetsource to launch new payment processing service

Aims to help clinics save time, improving customer satisfaction and veterinary practice value

Vetsource, a pet health company that offers innovative pharmacy, technology, and business services to those who care for pets, has unveiled a new payment processing service. This marks the newest addition to Vetsource's collection of veterinary solutions, which also includes prescription management, client engagement, and data services.

According to a company release,1 Vetsource obtained accreditation to be a payment facilitator, so it can offer competitive rates by removing hidden fees, often associated with processing payments, from unnecessary third parties. This eliminates transaction stress and brings value to veterinary practices.

The new payment processing platform will enable veterinary practices to provide modern, convenient, and flexible payment methods the veterinary field didn’t have until now. Through the solution, clients can pay in the way that best meets their needs, and it streamlines the collection of payments and end-of-day reconciliation, resulting in fewer errors, and ultimately saving the practice hours of administrative time each week.

"Our goal was to take what we know from our 15 years in the veterinary industry and build a service that meets the unique needs of veterinarians and their clients," said Kurt Green, Vetsource CEO, in the release.1

Vetsource's solution helps prevent unnecessary and crowded reception areas in clinics while simplifying payment collection for hospitalized patients through contactless payment options, like text-to-pay, so the practice can spend more time caring for patients.1 What’s more, practices can obtain client data in real-time and execute express checkouts, decreasing the amount of time spent manually entering data. Featuring a modern and intuitive interface supporting mobile and fixed payment terminals, this payment platform can meet the needs of each practice and their preferred workflow.

"A pain point for many veterinary hospitals is that their current payment systems are clunky and awkward, proving difficult and time-consuming for staff and causing friction for the customer," said Green, in the release. "With the combination of our deep domain knowledge and our prior payments experience, we knew we could solve a unique problem and bring a valuable payments solution to the industry – one that would be affordable, offer better reporting and reconciliation, and have a more modern-usable interface."1

Vetsource’s payment processing service will be available this spring. They are introducing the platform at the 2023 Western Veterinary Conference this week in Las Vegas, Nevada.
