VetMedTeam Veterinary Assistant Program Experiential Learning Option

Article

This eight-week program, designed for people who have worked for 5 or more years as a veterinary assistant, covers communications, client relations, office procedures, nursing, surgical prep, lab procedures, and more. (Articulates for college credit in selected veterinary technology programs.)

The VetMedTeam Veterinary Assistant Program Experiential Learning Option has been designed for those members of the practice team that already have experience as a veterinary assistant (working for all that time at a veterinary practice caring for client owned animals) for 5 or more years within the past 8 years. In addition, this fast-track option is available to those who have completed one year of formal education in an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program.

The program runs for 8 weeks and is directly supervised and instructed by the VetMedTeam CE Director. Those interested must be approved by the VetMedTeam CE Director prior to beginning the Program.

Students must be actively employed at a veterinary practice working at least 20 hours per week as an assistant.
