The VetMedTeam Veterinary Assistant Program covers communications/client relations, office/hospital procedures, animal nursing, exam room procedures, surgical prep and assisting, laboratory procedures, radiology, and pharmacology. The program curriculum is a series of eight modules covering different aspects of assistant training.
Students must be actively employed at a veterinary practice working at least 20 hours per week as an assistant. The program articulates to a number of AVMA accredited veterinary technology programs for college credit.
