Billie Valentine was the last dog in a high-kill shelter in Los Angeles, California
On the day paralyzed dog Billie Valentine was supposed to be euthanized at his high-kill shelter, Vanderpump Dogs—a rescue founded by Lisa Vanderpump, a former Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member and the current star of Vanderpump Rules—stepped in and rescued him. Because this occured on Valentine’s Day, they decided to name the dog Billie Valentine.
The dog received a rear wheelchair from Walkin’ Pets, an NH-based pet mobility company with a mission to support and shine a light on paralyzed dogs and their stories. Now, Billie Valentine is able to get back up on his feet and take his first independent steps.
“Billie immediately stole all our hearts! He has such an ambitious energy, loving spirit, and speed – he is so fast! He can finally run, play, and be as free and as fast as he wants to be. He loves his wheels and could not be happier. We can barely keep up with him. His life has been unimaginably hard and scary, but you would never know it. His amazing spirit shining through his recovery, is why we do what we do. Thank you so much to Walkin’ Pets for this amazing gift for Billie,” Vanderpump Dogs expressed in a social media post.
Billie is now up for adoption with Walkin’ Pets working to find a home for him that can tend to his needs while also giving him love, time, and attention and a happy, healthy life with his new family.
