Tufts Expo salutes Boston police, FEMA K-9 units

Boston-Tufts Animal Expo 2001, a veterinary-led conference for the animal health profession, was dedicated to service dogs and their partners involved in the tragedies in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania.

Boston-Tufts Animal Expo 2001, a veterinary-led conference forthe animal health profession, was dedicated to service dogs and their partnersinvolved in the tragedies in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania.

The expo, Oct. 10-13 at Hynes Convention Center, highlighted the roleof search and rescue dogs involved in efforts to find victims, and securitydogs that protect the public.

Organizers announced that Tufts Animal Expo will donate $5,000 to theBoston Police Bureau of Special Operations, K-9 Unit and $5,000 to the MassachusettsCanine Training Fund for Federal Emergency Management Agency Urban Searchand Rescue teams.
