“The quality of a pet's life, as perceived by its owners, is considered most improved after rostral mandibulectomy and least improved after maxillectomy. So in circumstances in which reconstruction can be attempted, maxillectomy should not be considered the treatment of choice, especially in potentially salvageable trauma cases.”
