Sue Ettinger, DVM, DACVIM (Oncology): [Another thing] that [is] just so important [for early cancer detection] is seeing your [veterinarian] on a regular basis. And for me, I recommend twice a year when your pet is middle aged and older. Your [veterinarian] may recommend some diagnostics, maybe some blood work, chest X-rays, or ultrasound. But again, we want to start doing screening tests earlier to detect that cancer early. Early detection will save lives.
