Texas A&M announces Piper Professor
College Station, Texas - Laurie Jaeger, associate professor in the College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences at Texas A&M University, was named a 2006 Piper Professor.
COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS — Laurie Jaeger, associate professor in the College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences at Texas A&M University, was named a 2006 Piper Professor.
The award was established by the Minnie Stevens Piper Foundation and honors outstanding Texas college professors with a $5,000 honorarium.
Jaeger won numerous teaching honors and citations, including Texas A&M's Presidential Professorship for Teaching Excellence Award; the Center for Teaching Excellence Scholar Award for the college of veterinary medicine; The Association of Former Students College Level Distinguished Teaching Award; the Wiley Distinguished Teaching Professorship in Veterinary Medicine and The Association of Former Students Faculty Distinguished Achievement Award in Teaching.
She has published peer-reviewed research articles, book chapters and has reviewed journal articles for the American Journal of Veterinary Research, Biology of Reproduction and the American Journal of Veterinary Research and others. Much of her research is focused on understanding fundamental mechanisms associated with successful implantation and establishment of pregnancy.
