• The finalists for Nationwide’s 17^th annual Hambone Awards were announced earlier this month. Each year, the Hambone Award is used to bring awareness to the importance of pet insurance by highlighting some of the more unusual claims submitted to Nationwide.
• On this week’s episode of The Vet Blast Podcast presented by dvm360, our host Adam Christman, DVM, MBA, welcomes veterinary student and president of the Cornell University Student American Veterinary Medical Association and president of the Cornell University Student National Association of Black Veterinarians, Jeremy Pouncy to discuss his life as a veterinary student.

• The Texas A&M Veterinary Emergency Team recently returned from their 23-day deployment to the Guadalupe River where they cared for search and rescue dogs working to look for survivors following the flooding on July 4^th, where the rescue dogs were able to locate 158 out of 160 missing people.
