Shower pets with security

Article

Use shower curtains to keep caged animals anxiety levels low.

Any hospital that provides grooming or boarding services is bound to come across a fraidy-cat—or dog. You know, the ones who cower or lunge at anything passing their kennels. Windham Animal Hospital in Windham, N.H., found an easy way to deal with these fearful boarders.

"Get a shower curtain with tabs or loops at the top and a set of shower curtain rings," says Yvonne Walton, patient advocacy manager, who recommends picking out a colorful set for an upbeat ambiance. "Attach the rings through the loops, and voila! You have a pretty, washable, easily moved or removed privacy screen that will fit on any cage, run, or kennel. And it's very effective." Best of all, this can be a cheap solution. Walton bought her curtain and rings at a Goodwill store for just $2.50.
