Room at Rood and Riddle for reproduction capabilities

Kentucky-Construction of a podiatry and reproduction facilityis under way at Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital.

The 20-stall barn is scheduled for completion December 15. The remainderof the facility should be finished by March 15.

Trained in foot care, Scott Morrison, DVM, will head the new podiatrysection, which will feature a blacksmith area, radiographic facilities,holding stalls and storage.

Michelle LeBlanc, DVM, dipl. American College of Theriogenologists (ACT),is responsible for the mare side of the facility; Gary Nie, DVM, Ph.D.,dipl. American Board of Veterinary Practitioners, dipl. ACT, is focusedon stallion reproduction.

Reproduction capabilities include a breeding shed, oocyte and stallionlaboratories, treatment rooms, offices and conference rooms.
