Check out how Dr Joya Griffin's NatGeo show is helping her educate and inspire future veterinary professionals

When Joya Griffin, DVM, DACVD, began filming her NatGeo Show Pop Goes the Vet, she took this as an opportunity to teach the world more about veterinary dermatology. Now, not only is she educating audiences around the world, but she is giving future veterinary professionals and even just children in general a role model to look up to, showing them that it is possible to achieve their dreams.

The following is a partial transcript of the video.

Joya Griffin, DVM, DACVD: I have gotten a lot of feedback from parents that they have loved seeing an African American woman as a role model on television, you do not see that very often and I think that it is important for people to see mentors of all colors, shapes, and sizes because unless you see it, you can't really believe it for yourself.
