A portion of the proceeds from the race will go to PrideVMC, an organization that promotes inclusivity and community by creating a better world for the LQBTQ+ veterinary community

Relief Rover, an online platform connecting hospitals and veterinary relief professionals, recently announced its second annual virtual Clinic to 5K running/walking event scheduled for the last week of June. According to a press release from Relief Rover, $10 from every registration will be donated to PrideVMC to help them continue to support the LGBTQ+ veterinary community by empowering them to embrace wellbeing by being their authentic selves.

“Our mental health and wellbeing require a sustainable effort. Last year’s event was a huge success serving as a way for our hardworking veterinary teams to relax and have some healthy fun while supporting the profession,” said Relief Rover founder and CEO, Cindy Trice, DVM, in the release.

Registration Details:

  • Regular Registration ($37)from March 22 to May 23
  • Late Registration ($45) from May 24 to the third week in June
  • Surprise giveaways will be held during the registration window.
  • All participants will receive a swag bag that includes a bib with their race number, medal, sunglasses, gaiter, sponsor materials, and gifts.

Registrants can also make additional donations to Not One More Vet (NOMV) and Stryder Cancer Foundation. Participants may complete the virtual race during a one-week window from June 20 to 26. However, they can run or walk the 5K anytime.

“We are facing unprecedented mental health challenges in the veterinary profession, and our LGBQT+ veterinary colleagues need our unwavering support as many states challenge their basic rights as human beings,” said Relief Rover chief running officer, Juli Goldstein, DVM.

Participants are encouraged to train with friends, form teams, run with their dogs, and share their results and experiences on social media. Relief Rover shared hashtags for the event: #runvetrun, #irunforpridevmc, and #reliefrover5K. The organization will also offer special bone-shaped race bibs for canine participants.

The event is open to those who work in the veterinary industry, pet parents, or anyone who wants to support the people who care for animals.

For more information and to register for the event, go to runvetrun.com. or contact Goldstein at Juli@reliefrover.com.
