One great idea to reduce stress and fear in cats, Taylor says, is to create a hiding area or separate room for cats once they're first boarded. Also, ask your contractor for quiet-close hinges on cages so the cage doors don't slam shut. Cats like to get up high and perch, so try to incorporate as much vertical space as possible within your facility.
