Make check-in and checkout out a snap for clients by placing a pet pedestal at your reception counter. At Frederick Cat Vet in Frederick, Md., Dr. Mike Karg placed a pedestal next to the reception desk on which clients can set a cat carrier, rather than putting the carrier on the floor. The pedestal has a piece of carpeting on top and a sturdy base to minimize movement. He also included similar shorter pieces next to the reception seating.
