PETA's plea to the Pet Shop Boys

Article

Pop stars asked to adopt a more animal-friendly band name.

The Pet Shop Boys aren't going to change their band name to the Shelter Rescue Boys like the People of Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) Europe asked, according to Yahoo News. But they are helping raise awareness about animal rights. Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe, the pop duo responsible for hits such as "West End Girls," "It's a Sin," and "Suburbia," posted PETA Europe's request letter on their Web site, petshopboys.co.uk. The letter outlines reasons why the band should encourage fans to consider adopting pets from shelters rather than stores.
