Think you know where your personal finances stand? If you're married, your spouse likely sees family earnings and expenses differently. According to The Journal of Socio-Economics, a study of about 1,200 couples found that husbands estimate family income 5 percent higher than their wives' estimates-and the gap in estimates was more than $15,000 for 10 percent of the couples. Men also guessed total wealth 10 percent higher than their wives. That's not a huge surprise when you consider that wives estimate higher family debt.
