Paws and profits: Wellness Pet Company names a new chief marketing officer, and other updates

Wellness Pet Company has a new experienced consumer packaged goods marketer in its top marketing role. A national dog training franchise has brought on a canine behavior expert to lead program development. And a North Carolina-based cooperative veterinary network has appointed a healthcare operations veteran as its chief operating officer. Allyson Borozan, MBA, chief marketing officer, Wellness Pet Company

Wellness Pet Company has named Allyson Borozan, MBA, as chief marketing officer. Borozan joins from Bob's Red Mill Natural Foods, where she served as chief growth officer and, prior to that, senior vice president of marketing. She also spent more than a decade at the Kellogg Company in innovation and marketing roles and held brand management positions at Kraft Foods Group. She holds an MBA in marketing from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management and a bachelor's degree from Tulane University.

In her new role, Borozan will oversee brand strategy, innovation, and omni-channel marketing. "Wellness has a clear purpose, mission and culture and I am delighted to have the opportunity to join the company at such an exciting time. "I look forward to collaborating with Wellness Pet's global team of pet parents and partners who are dedicated to bringing the very best nutrition to pet families,” she said in a company news release.¹

Darris Cooper, CPDT-KA, FFCP, director of training and socialization, Zoom Room

Earlier this spring, Zoom Room, an indoor dog training gym franchise, appointed Darris Cooper,CPDT-KA, FFCP, as director of training and socialization. Cooper brings more than 15 years of experience in the pet industry, including leadership roles at Petco and Best Friends Pet Care. He is known for helping lead the removal of shock collars from Petco stores nationwide. Additionally, Cooper holds certification through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers, is a Fear Free Certified Animal Trainer, and has served as a judge on ABC's The American Rescue Dog Show.

In his new role, Cooper will lead the company's program development and work to align training and socialization standards across the franchise system. Audrey Lysko, MBA, chief operating officer, Vets Pets

Vets Pets, a cooperative network of small-animal veterinary hospitals based in Wilson, North Carolina, has named Audrey Lysko as chief operating officer. Lysko comes to the role from Unified Women's Healthcare, where she served as division president with strategic, operational, and financial oversight of more than 100 private OB/GYN practices. Before that, she spent more than a decade in healthcare consulting at Kurt Salmon and The Chartis Group, working with hospitals and medical groups on performance improvement and strategy. She holds an undergraduate degree in economics from Duke University and an MBA from UNC Kenan-Flagler.
