Nebraska revises rules for temporary licensure
Lincoln, Neb. - Veterinarians may now apply for a temporary license in Nebraska if they have been licensed in another state with comparable standards.

LINCOLN, NEB. — Veterinarians may now apply for a temporary license in Nebraska if they have been licensed in another state with comparable standards.

The new law, signed and effective May 18, mandates that the Department of Agriculture, on recommendation from the state veterinary board, may issue a temporary license to a veterinarian as long as he or she holds an active license in good standing from a state with requirements that are equal to or exceed Nebraska's standards.
The temporary license can be issued for no more than 90 days over a 12-month period.
