Nebraska regulators crack down on wildlife ownership
Lincoln, Neb. - The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission want annual permits for wildlife kept in captivity.

Lincoln, Neb. — The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission wants annual permits for wildlife kept in captivity.

The changes were made final on Dec. 5, 2011, and became effective Dec. 10.
The new regulations provide a full list of animals that require a permit if they are to be kept in captivity. The list includes, but is not limited to, badgers, beavers, bobcats, deer, opossums, pheasants, bighorn sheep and swans.
The regulation also details what wild animals may be imported into Nebraska.
