JACKSON, MISS. — A new law, approved by the governor March 8, will allow chiropractors to treat animal patients on referral from a veterinarian.
The chiropractor must have a current license from the Mississippi Board of Chiropractic Examiners and have completed an approved animal chiropractic course.
A provision in the original version of the bill to require direct veterinary supervision was removed. The new law takes effect June 30.
