Use colored dot stickers to quickly identify expiration dates.

At our hospital, we label all of our medications, including in-house injectables, with colored dot stickers to quickly identify the expiration date of each item. Each color stands for a different year, and we write the month and year on it as well. This way, when we assess inventory or dispense medications, we can easily identify if a medication is within the expiration year.
