Blacksburg, Va. - Dr. F. William "Bill" Pierson, interim director of the veterinary teaching hospital at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech since last July, now has officially been named to the full-time veterinary teaching hospital director position.

- Dr. F. William "Bill" Pierson, interim director of the veterinary teaching hospital at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech since last July, now has officially been named to the full-time veterinary teaching hospital director position.
Pierson previously served as an associate professor of biosecurity and infection control and a clinical specialist in avian medicine in the school's department of large animal clinical sciences, according to the college. He earned his DVM at the college in 1984 and a Ph.D. in avian medicine in 1993. Pierson also is a diplomate in the American College of Poultry Veterinarians and a member of the American Association of Avian Pathologists, the Association of Avian Veterinarians, the Poultry Science Association and the North Eastern Conference and Avian Diseases.
