This free, one hour, RACE-approved lecture will review interesting diagnostic toxicology cases presented to the California Animal Health and Food Safety Toxicology Section. Cases will cover a variety of toxicant categories found in the home and yard environment of cats and dogs, although interesting wildlife cases will also be presented.
The lecture will focus on history, case presentation, selection of appropriate samples for known or unknown exposures, available testing options to confirm exposure or intoxication, and case treatment and/or resolution. Both naturally occurring and synthetic chemical exposures will be represented. A summary of the toxicology of chemicals involved in each case will be provided.
