LAS VEGAS — A Web site created to support a public-relations campaign about heartworm was unveiled at the recently concluded Western Veterinary Conference.
The Web site is sponsored by the American Heartworm Society, American Association of Feline Practitioners and funded through an educational grant from Pfizer Animal Health.
Dr. Charles Thomas Nelson, president of AHS, explains, "What we are striving for with this Web site is to provide a central place for information where cat owners can educate themselves on the disease, and then enter into discussions with their veterinarians to assess the risks."
The Web site is www.knowheartworms.org.
