Atlanta -- The Georgia Veterinary Medical Association's annual "Paws to Help" fund-raiser netted more than $20,000 to provide veterinary care for service animals owned by people with disabilities and for other pet owners experiencing financial hardship.

-- The Georgia Veterinary Medical Association's annual "Paws to Help" fund-raiser netted more than $20,000 to provide veterinary care for service animals owned by people with disabilities and for other pet owners experiencing financial hardship.
The fund-raiser collects donations from participating veterinarians, who submit 10 percent of one day's earnings each May. This year, more than 60 veterinarians participated.
