-- The 2006 Executive Report from the National Antimicrobial Resistance Monitoring System (NARMS) was released today by the Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) Center for Veterinary Medicine.
The report summarizes NARMS data on Salmonella and Campylobacter isolates recovered in 2006 from human clinical cases, retail meat products and food animals at federally inspected plants, FDA says in a prepared statement. The report includes susceptibility data on Escherichia coli isolates recovered from retail meats and chickens. Summary data from prior years are also included.
