Consultations and Client Communication

Event

Date: March 13 - April 17, 2017

Description:

Vet Nurses and Techs are becoming increasingly responsible for nurse-led clinics, and therefore in directly communicating with and advising clients. Reception staff have to utilise effective communication during most of their working day. But how confident are we in this face-to-face and unpredictable environment?Communication can also have an enormous impact on client compliance and the resulting clinical outcomes - so how do we ensure we get it right? This course will cover some key aspects of communication skills including consultation structure, assisting with euthanasia appointments, and admission and discharge procedures.Whilst the course covers topics that are often the nurse remit, the content of this course is also suitable for any veterinary surgeons that wish to learn some useful skills in communicating in consultations. All of our courses are 100% online, and run over a set period as a group. You can access the course lectures, guidelines and materials on our friendly learning platform at any time during the course, and complete work at your own pace.Courses are fully tutored and our discussion-based approach means that you can discuss topics with your peers and share problems and solutions, with the input, guidance and support of your tutor throughout. You will receive feedback on coursework, and all of our CPD is certified as formal/assessed distance learning.
