FORT COLLINS, COLO. — Colorado State University's (CSU) veterinary hospital developed a test that helps veterinarians pinpoint lymphoma in dogs.
The Morris Animal Foundation helped fund Dr. Anne Avery's study, which enabled scientists to develop the highly-sensitive blood test that can detect the disease before clinical signs are apparent.
CSU now has the only laboratory in the country that performs this test, receiving more than 1,000 canine blood and tissue samples from around the world for testing.
Avery now is working on a better detection method for finding lymphoma in cats with funding from Morris Animal Foundation.
