The participants at the end of this course will understand their integral role in the dental team and will be well versed in the following lecture topics:

  • Normal Dental Anatomy

  • Tooth development

  • Eruption schedules

  • Dental formulas of domestic animals

  • Dental numbering system: Anatomic Vs. Triadan

  • Positional terminology

  • Malocclusions

  • Periodontal disease: etiology, symptoms, stages and treatment options

  • Oral radiographic pathology

  • Radiographic theory of shooting

The laboratory component is 11 hours on cadavers and skulls and will include:

  • Complete Dental Prophylaxis

  • Dental Charting

  • Instrument Care and Sharpening Techniques

  • Radiology: Taking, Developing and Interpreting
