This is a rational approach. ALT activity is a more specific indicator of hepatocellular injury than ALP, and it is normal in this case. We also don't suspect marked impairment in liver function based on those bile acid results, so it makes sense to try these medications and see how Spot does. It is important that the owner understand, however, that we still need to keep an eye on things, so follow-up is key as we may need to pursue other tests depending on how Spot responds.
