This is a possible option. This noninvasive test will tell us if there are any obvious parenchymal changes within the liver. If there are any important abnormalities, further testing can then be discussed with the owner. Remember, a normal ultrasonographic examination does not rule out the possibility of disease, so we would still want to monitor this patient for changes in clinical signs or lab data.
