Calculating ProSal compensation

I'm an associate paid on production using the ProSal formula. Using this formula, my production is calculated by net income, not gross. Does this mean that I'm technically helping pay for the business?

Production under ProSal is defined as fees generated and collected for services the doctor delivers, says Mark Opperman, CVPM, owner of VMC Inc., a veterinary consulting firm based in Evergreen, Colo. "And production is determined by gross income received, not net income, as you suggest," says Opperman. "Net income is defined very differently from practice to practice."

Opperman says you should be paid 18 percent to 25 percent of fees charged and collected for services you were directly involved in delivering.
